Research Staff Forum (Social Sciences Division)

The SSD Research Staff Forum (RSF) gathers one researcher representative from each department in the Social Sciences Division, chosen by their peers to represent the interests of the community of fixed-term researchers at the divisional level. RSF acts as a two-way link between their wider peer group and the University's governance structure.

Amongst the core attributions of the RSF are to champion career development, progression, and well-being for researchers, to identify opportunities for sharing good practice across the Social Science Division, and to cascade relevant information from university and divisional level committees to departmental or cross-departmental fora, as well to research staff directly.

Reporting lines

The RSF delegates its members, and members of the wider Social Sciences Division researcher community, to attend and contribute to meetings of relevant boards, committees and groups. The RSF has reporting lines into the Social Sciences Divisional Board, Planning and Resources Committee (PRC), Research Staff Consultation Group (RSCG), Research Strategy Group (RSG), Research Staff Steering Committee (RSSC) and Research Staff Working Group (RSWG). The RSF also elects two members to represent fixed-term researchers on the Divisional Equality and Diversity Working Group.
