Miriam McGilvray

Development Executive - Social Sciences Division

Miriam McGilvray is a Development Executive in Oxford’s Social Sciences Division, working across the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) and its research centres and programmes to develop philanthropic relationships and major gift opportunities.

She particularly enjoys bringing people together around ideas with the potential for meaningful, long-term impact, working with academics and prospective supporters to find shared interests and create ambitious philanthropic partnerships.

Before moving into fundraising, Miriam worked in executive education, executive search and business development, engaging with senior leaders, academics and international networks.

Having lived in seven countries during her childhood, Miriam developed an early curiosity about different cultures and perspectives that continues to shape her interests and her work today. Under the pseudonym Faith Morgan, she is also the author of the memoir Rebel, published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2021.
